Dear Michael,
of course I am still using this scope. This one is from category that will never be "on sale" for me.
Regarding the EP I used some cheap Chinese ones ordered from Aliexpress, 0.965 standard.
Field of view is grater than in original EP but optical quality of original EP is far more better.
So in mine baby TAL focuser, I can fit 0.965 EP with no problem, only problem could be very low primary focus so some EP can not reach focus.
For example I have tried Zeiss H16 EP and this can not reach focus.
Also you can use some microscope EP like Zeiss, which have even slightly smaller standard then 0.965 and easily fits into focuser, but price for Zeiss microscope EP is "hot"!
One more alternative is USA producer Siebert Optics which have replacement EP specially made for TAL-65 (focal length 26 mm) which are still available for order, you can find details on his website.
Hope this was of some help for you.

Hi,

hopefully you are still using this wonderful telescope. I have a question, how did you fit the 0.965" eyepieces in the focuser? As this telescope‘s eyepiece has a slightly smaller diameter.

Thank you,
Michael

Dear Alec,
as I know finding of TAL Alcor is really hard. I found one that I own in Serbia, but I don't think there is lot of more here. It is very curious that UK is the place where you can try to find such telescope, try e-bay UK, because UK had lot of serious Russian optic dealers. Mine scope is in rather good, almost mint condition, and I had some offers to sell it, but prices offered to me were too low for me to let go such precious telescope...

Hello from Canada: I am trying to track down a TAL Alcor for a friend in Greece. Any chance you can help me out? I managed to buy one on e-Bay Germany last month, but no further luck since. My thought is that perhaps there are more TAL-Alcors in countries of the former East-bloc countries... ??
